Although I am enjoying my time on the island, and I'm trying to concentrate on the now - to be honest, there are quite a few things I miss about home. I miss all the independence I had and all the conveniences that the states have to offer. Of course I have a list of things I miss - my car, my dog, spending time with my friends, a real grocery store, shopping, movie theaters, restaurants
.....BUT what I miss the most is our family. Its especially hard in the fall, during football season, and with all the holidays coming up.
Football is a big deal in Texas, and football season is a big part of our lives. Every weekend in the fall is spent watching football, either in person or on the television. For Texas A & M (our alma mater) home games, our weekend plans typically consisted of meeting Blake's family in College Station, where Blake's brothers are currently students.
Today Texas A & M played Arkansas in Cowboys Stadium, about 45 minutes away from my mom's house. Its a hard day for me because if we were back home, we would be spending time with both of our families right now.
