Since I moved to Dominica, I've been wanting to make homemade facials and face masks, but I haven't gotten around to it. Since the cooking challenge ingredient for this week is avocado, and our neighbor gave us four honking huge avocados to help me complete the challenge, I've decided to make one "actual" food recipe and an avocado face mask.
Avocado Face Mask
Ingredients:
1/4 to 1/3 of a ripe Dominican sized avocado
1 tsp. honey (if you don't have honey, just use olive oil)
| This is what I mean by a Dominican avocado. They are huge. |
Mash the avocado in a bowl using a fork, or use a food mixer/processor. Once you have the chunks out, mix in the honey. Put it in the fridge for half an hour or so to cool it down. It should look like this -
Smear it all over your face, let it sit for about 10 minutes, scare your husband or a neighbor if your husband isn't home, then wash it off with cool water. It feels lovely!
