Texas on my mind

Next Tuesday, March 15th, I will take a Dramamine and get into a van at 4:45 a.m., then try not to get sick while my driver curves up and down the road at crazy speeds (in the dark, which makes it scarier), while I get a front seat view and hope I don't die. After a 45- minute drive we will get to the airport and at 7 I'll have a flight to Barbados, then a two hour layover in Barbados where I have to go through customs and re-check in, then at 10 I'll have a 6-hour flight to...and this is the part that makes it all worth it....Dallas!!! My mom is meeting me in baggage claim (which is good because I don't have a US cell phone), taking me to Whataburger for a burger and milk shake, then we are going to the mall! To top it all off, after we have hung out at the mall for awhile, to let the crazy Dallas traffic calm down, we will drive home and I get to see my little puppy, Charlie! I miss him so much.

I think this is the first time EVER that I will be excited to go into a Walmart. For those of you that don't know, I despise Walmart, for many reasons, but I can't wait to go into a big building with everything under one roof...aisles and aisles of food, produce, meat, fresh milk....heaven. Actually, I'm excited about HEB, but I won't get to go there until I'm further south, so Walmart will have to do. I have a list of food I HAVE to eat while I'm in Texas, including but not limited to: fresh milk, strawberries, queso, good Mexican food, steak, and lettuce (yes, we have lettuce here but you should hear the horror stories...I won't go into it).

I'll be in Texas March 15th - 28th, basically all over the map. I'll spend a few days with my mom and step-dad, then time with Blake's family in Victoria, time with my dad in McAllen, work and friends in San Antonio, then back to Azle / Dallas for the half marathon and time with my mom. Prob a total of around 20 hours in the car by myself, which is fine with me, I love driving, and I might have my little travelling companion, Charlie, which makes it even better. After my Texas trip I'll be in Barbados for a few days, spending time with 3 other spouses at an all-inclusive place, which will be awesome.

I'm not sure if I'll miss Dominica, but for now, Texas is on my mind.
