Blake started semester three of medical school this week. This means that we are halfway through with our island-living adventure!
Memories made during the break between second and third semester-
We took a much needed vacation to St. Lucia. We were able to take the ferry since St. Lucia is only two islands south of Dominica and a 4-hour boat ride. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort in Castries, the north region of St. Lucia, called Sandals la Toc. Going beyond the typical food and drinks, scuba diving was also included in the all-inclusive package, so we were able to get in 4 dives while we were there. We actually saw quite a bit of the island from the dive boat, with 2 of our dives going to the south region of the island, close to the Piton mountains.

After we got back from St. Lucia, we still had two full weeks of break, and we were blessed to have two sets of visitors during that time!
Blake's parents were our first set of visitors. We had a great time showing them around Dominica, and love that they came out to visit! We took them to Trafalgar waterfalls, Screws spa, Champagne Bay, Secret Beach, and on an Indian River boat tour. Coming from Texas, with the horrific drought this summer, they couldn't believe how green everything was! We had a wonderful time sharing our island-living experience with them.

While the Goodman's were in Puerto Rico, on their way home to the states, our second set of visitors were on their way...or at least trying to get here! Michelle, Janine, and Anthony had a few glitches in their travels, with many issues with their flight from Dallas to Puerto Rico, but they ended up getting to Dominica on time! We did a bunch of touristy things, and gave them a crash course on Dominica with going to the fish market, regular market on Saturday, and eating lots of local foods.

Thank you so much to all of our visitors. We are so blessed to have friends and family that took time out of your busy schedules to spend a few days with us! We love you guys!
